The Bats volcano is a cave that is found in the biosphere reserve of Calakmul in Mexico. The cave, which has only been partially explored, has become a new tourist attraction since it is a privileged place to observe the exit of the bats at dusk. A total of 27,000 individuals of this species have been found in the cave, hence the name of the cave as its erupting volcano mouth vomits an enormous herd of these small mammals.
